Our Story

Meiago started with a Yorkie named Bramble and a mounting pile of returned harnesses. Sophia, our founder, adopted Bramble in 2023 and quickly ran into the same problem every small dog owner knows too well: almost everything on the market is designed for medium and large breeds first, with "small" as an afterthought — harnesses that rubbed, carriers with zippers too stiff for a 4kg dog to feel comfortable in, bowls sized like they were meant for a Labrador.

After the fourth returned harness in as many months, Sophia started sketching her own — proper proportions for toy and small breeds, softer hardware, materials that wouldn't chafe. What began as a fix for one dog turned into Meiago: a small, careful catalog built specifically around the needs of small dogs, not scaled down from something else.

Every product in our catalog is tested on actual small breeds before it goes up for sale — usually Bramble first, then a small circle of local dog owners who tell us honestly when something doesn't work. We'd rather have a smaller range done properly than a big one that treats small dogs as an afterthought.
